57ft Cruiser style narrow boat. 10/6/5/4mm steelwork by VG Boat Builders. Part fitted by Cheshire Narrowboats, finished by the owners. Powered by a 42hp Isuzu Marine diesel engine.

Cruiser stern narrowboats with reverse layouts are becoming more popular by the day. This boat has a very spacious layout with a good level of storage and equipment. Designed for a couple to live aboard she has been kept quite open plan which gives a nice airy feel. There is room in the lounge for a dinette or sofa-bed if you wish to accommodate more people.

The Interior Boat Plan

From the Bow

From the bow which has a steel gas locker, there is a 3’8” open self-draining well deck. The stainless steel water tank is located beneath the well deck with a surface mounted filler. Twin headlamps are mounted on the front bulkhead.

Generic fixtures and fittings

Hull sides, cabin sides and ceilings are all lined in Oak veneered plywood and framed with Sapele. Bulkheads and fixed furniture are constructed from Oak veneered MDF. All interior wood has been sealed and varnished. Solid Oak flooring throughout the boat. Curtains or blinds to all windows.

Bedroom 9’ 8”

Steel doors, 2/3 glazed and wood lined internally, open out onto the front deck with steps leading down into the bedroom. Furniture: 6’6” x 4’3” fixed double bed with cupboards beneath. 1 x large wardrobes. 1 x storage cupboard. Lighting: 2 x portholes with drop-back openings. 4 x 12v, halogen down-lights. Heating: 1 x central heating radiator. Power: 4 x 240v sockets.

Bathroom 6’

The full width bathroom has a white suite comprising: Suite: Domestic sized shower enclosure, lined in marble effect UPVC, with chrome shower attachment and mixer taps. Vanity unit with large porcelain wash basin, chrome mixer tap and a cupboard beneath. Thetford, electric flush cassette toilet. Storage: Storage shelves beside the shower. Heating: 1 x towel radiator. Lighting: 2 x portholes with drop-back openings and privacy glass. 3 x 12v, halogen down-lights.

Lounge 17’ 6”

Large open plan lounge with plenty of space for a dining table. Fixed Furniture: 2 x recline/swivel armchairs. Range of under gunwale cabinets and shelves. Lighting: 3 x portholes with drop-back openings. 1 x set of steel side doors, wood panelled internally, with slot in window. 6 x 12v, halogen down-lights. 4 x 240v, halogen down-lights. Heating: Boatman solid fuel stove set on a tiled hearth and surround. 2 x central heating radiators in cabinets. Power: 4 x 240v sockets.

Galley 9’ 9”

The galley has fitted units with burgundy red high gloss door and drawer fronts. The worktops are granite effect melamine with ceramic tiled splash-backs. Wall Cupboards: 4 x locker style wall cupboards. Base Units: 1 x double cupboard. 2 x 3 drawer units. 1 x single cupboard. 1 x single cupboard with drawer above. Fridge housing. Cooker space. Space for washing machine, other appliance, or bin, etc. Appliances: Slot-in gas cooker with separate oven and grill. Electric, domestic sized fridge with freezer compartment. Inset, stainless steel sink and drainer, with a chrome monobloc mixer tap and glass lid/splash-back. Light: 2 x portholes with drop-back openings. 6 x 12v, halogen down-lights. Power: 8 x 240v sockets.

Cruiser Deck & Stern 6’ 8”

Rear storage steps lead from the galley to the steel rear doors, wood lined internally with sliding roof hatch. These open out on to the cruiser deck and steering position. The engine is accessed via lift-up deck panels. Controls: The column mounted single lever engine control is located on the port side. Flooring: Anti-slip tread on marine ply boards and sanded paint on the steel. Other Features: Steel Taff rail with hardwood seat around the stern.

WINDOWS, DOORS & HATCHES
Port side: 4 x brass portholes with drop-back openings. 1 x set of steel side doors wood panelled internally with slot-in window.
Starboard side: 5 x brass portholes with drop-back openings.
Front: Steel front doors, 2/3 glazed and wood lined internally.
Rear: Steel rear doors and sliding roof hatch, wood lined internally.

GAS
2 x 13kg Propane cylinders housed in the bow locker, provide gas to the cooker.

WATER
140 gallon stainless steel water tank located beneath the well deck. Water pump with pressure switch located adjacent to the tank. Twin coil, 14 gallon calorifier heated by the diesel fired central heating boiler or the 240v immersion.

HEATING
Heating is provided by the Boatman solid fuel stove in the lounge and the Webasto diesel fired central heating boiler running 4 radiators.

240v circuit from landline with RCD.
12v lights throughout protected by fuses.
1 x 12v, 80 amp/hr engine driven alternator.
1 x 12v, 110 amp/hr engine start battery.
2 x 12v, 110 amp/hr leisure batteries.

EXTERIOR FINISH
The boat has been repainted in 2008. The hull is protected by black bitumen and 4 sacrificial anodes.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS OF INVENTORY
Comes equipped with a normal cruising inventory including a full set of ropes and fenders. Any additional items not listed must be negotiated separately with the owner.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The boat is powered by a 42hp Isuzu, 4 cylinder, marine diesel engine coupled to a hydraulic PRM 150 gearbox with 2:1 reduction, turning the propeller. The exhaust is lagged, silenced and vents out from under the side deck. The engine powers a 12v alternator to charge the start battery and the 2 leisure batteries.
