68ft 10in Trad Stern Tug Narrowboat £69,995

"Against All Odds" is a beautiful 2012 two-owner tug style narrow boat with a separate engine room and classic Kromhout 3 cylinder engine. She is very well equipped as a live-aboard boat with a corner bath and shower (supplied with plenty of hot water by two calorifiers), a washing machine and separate fridge and freezer. There are four solar panels to the roof to keep the batteries topped up. She was last out of the water in January 2019 for blacking. Viewing recommended.

Background

Quality 10/6/4 mm steelwork by SC Sheppard with a josher bow, tug deck, 4 sets of side doors, pigeon box to the roof and a trad stern. Fitted-out to a very high standard by the first owner in painted ply panels and solid sapele trim offering comfortable 2 2 berth accommodation. The traditional style engine room houses the Classic Kromhout 3 LWS (Gardner), 3 cylinder 42hp engine with Newage PRM 260 D2 hydraulic gearbox. The engine dates from 1947 and had a comprehensive re-build in 2012. Speed wheel and push pull controls.

From the Bow

From the bow which houses the gas locker there is a 6 tug deck. The water tank is located below the tug deck with a surface mounted filler. The headlamp is mounted on a mast at the bow.

The ceilings, cabin sides and hull sides are lined with painted ply trimmed in solid sapele. All interior wood has been painted or varnished. The flooring is carpet throughout except in the galley which has tile effect laminate.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The boat is powered by Classic Kromhout 3 LWS (Gardner) 3 cylinder 42 hp engine coupled to a Newage PRM 260 D2 hydraulic gearbox. The engine dates from 1947 and had a comprehensive re-build in 2012. The exhaust is lagged, silenced and vents out through a chimney in the roof.
The engine powers a 12v alternator to charge the start battery and the 8 leisure batteries.

WATER
The 250 gallon plastic water tank is located beneath the well deck. Water pump with pressure switch is located adjacent to the tank. 2 x calorifiers are heated by the 240v emersion heater, and/or the engine heat exchanger.

HEATING
Heating is provided by the Lockgate diesel fired stove with back boiler in the saloon running 3 radiators. Wall diesel fired blown air heater and the Midland Chandlers Range in the rear cabin.

240v circuit from landline with RCD.
12v lights throughout protected by fuses.
1 x 12v, 150 amp/hr engine driven alternator.

The boat comes equipped with a normal cruising inventory including a full set of ropes and fenders. Any additional items not listed must be negotiated separately with the owner.
