57ft Trad Stern Narrowboat £49,995

Ragged Robin is a beautifully presented 1998 narrow boat that has been maintained with care and having had a full repaint in 2019, looks like a much younger boat. There is a cratch and cover to the front and two Houdini hatches to the galley and bedroom as well as side doors with a top hatch and steps in the corridor opposite the galley. Ragged Robin was last docked for blacking in May 2019 and has a BSSC to November 2024. Viewing recommended.

Background

Quality 10/6/4/4/mm steelwork with side doors, Houdini hatches and a trad stern by Colecraft. Professional fit-out by Colecraft in oak faced ply and Parana pine T&G offering comfortable 4 berth accommodation which could be extended to 6 with the addition of a sofa bed. Powered by a Perkins Phoenix MC42, 42hp marine diesel engine with Newage PRM Delta hydraulic gearbox. Nobels electric bow-thruster.

From the Bow

From the bow which holds the gas locker, there is a 5 1 self draining well deck with locker/seats to either side and a fold down table. There is a wooden cratch frame with windows to the front and a vinyl cover with clear panels. The stainless steel water tank is located beneath the well deck with a surface mounted filler. The headlamp is mounted on the front of the cratch board.

Generic Fixtures and Fittings

The ceilings and hull sides are lined with oak faced plywood panels trimmed with solid oak and sapele. The cabin sides are lined with Parana pine tongue & groove trimmed with sapele. All interior wood has been varnished to a gloss finish. Flooring throughout is carpet except in the galley which has wood effect vinyl and the bathroom which has a tiled floor.

Wooden, stable style ⅔ glazed front doors, open out onto the front deck with a storage step down into the saloon.

Fixed Furniture: 1 x half height corner cabinet. 1 x glazed under gunwale cabinet. Wine rack. Magazine rack.

Steel rear doors, wood panelled internally with traditional decoration and a sliding roof hatch lead from the trad area to the rear deck and steering position.

Controls: The single lever engine control is on the port side just inside the stern doors.

Lighting: 2 x fixed brass portholes. 1 x 12v, ceiling light.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The boat is powered by a Perkins Phoenix MC42 42hp, 4 cylinder, marine diesel engine coupled to a Newage PRM Delta hydraulic gearbox with 2: 1 reduction, turning the propeller. The exhaust is lagged, silenced and vents out from under the side deck.
The engine powers twin 12v alternators to charge the start battery and the 4 leisure batteries.

BOW-THRUSTER
Nobels electric bow-thruster with controls at the stern.

WATER
The stainless steel water tank is located beneath the well deck. The twin coil calorifier is heated by the Eberspacher diesel fired boiler and/or the engine heat exchanger.

HEATING
Heating is provided by the Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove in the saloon and the Eberspacher diesel fired boiler running 5 radiators.
