60ft Trad Stern Tug Style Narrowboat £85,000

Zephyr is a beautiful bespoke 2002 two-owner tug style narrow boat with classic lines and a separate engine room with classic Lister 2 cylinder engine providing that traditional working boat sound. She is very well equipped as a live-aboard boat with a very clever and versatile forward deck area that can serve as an al fresco dining room. The interior is superbly fitted out with great attention to detail. Repainted 2018 by Andy Russell. Viewing is highly recommended.

Quality 12/8/5mm steelwork by Roger Farrington of Wybridge Marine giving beautiful lines with a trad stern and fore peak at the bow, 3 sets of side doors, and pigeon box to the roof. Repainted by Andy Russell in 2018. Fitted-out to a very high standard by the first owner with Roger Farrington in beech faced ply panels and solid oak T&G with solid oak trims offering comfortable 2 2 berth accommodation. The traditional style engine room houses the Classic 1960s Lister JK2M 2 cylinder, 18hp diesel engine; coupled to Lister Blackstone mechanical gearbox. Speedwheel and push pull control.

From the Bow

From the bow is the forward cabin. The water tank is located below the tug deck with a surface mounted filler. The headlamp is mounted on the forward cabin.

Generic Fixtures and Fittings

The ceilings are lined with painted T & G with solid oak trims. Cabin sides are lined with beech faced plywood with solid oak trims. Hull sides are lined with oak T & G with solid oak trims. All interior wood has been painted or varnished. Flooring is oak planking throughout apart from the bathroom which has ceramic tiled flooring, and the rear cabin which has wood effect Amtico.

Forward Cabin 8ft 8in

The forward cuddy cabin is beneath the fore peak, it has reduced headroom of 49. It features a fold down boatmans style bed and additional bed to sleep two (ideal for children).

Fixed Furniture: Drop down Boatmans style bed with cupboards above and below. Additional single berth. 1 x built in wardrobe and cupboard traditionally decorated.

Heating: Compact Roger Jackson solid fuel stove set on a tiled hearth. 1 x central heating radiator.

Lighting: 1 x Houdini escape hatch. 1 x 12v, ceiling light. 1 x 12v, wall light.

Power: 1 x 12v socket.

Well Deck 9ft

The cleverly designed covered well deck has access doors and steps to both sides. Removable panels and can vas roof allow the space to be opened up for summer cruising whilst being cosy and warm at other times. There are two fold-down bench seats and a removable folding table to create a large family dining area.

Storage: 2 x full height cupboards. Storage steps to both sides.

Wall Units: 2 x wall cupboards. Pan rack.

Appliances: Nardi built in gas oven and grill. Siemens, inset two burner gas hob. 12v, Shoreline fridge. Large ceramic Butler sink with wooden drainer and chrome taps.

Rear Cabin 10ft 6in

Furniture: Fixed double bed with storage below. 2 x over-bed cupboards. Boatmans style cupboard with drop down table and cupboard below. Fixed bench seat with storage below. Ticket box. Wall shelves.

Heating: Boatmans solid fuel range. 1 x central heating radiator.

Steel rear doors and sliding roof hatch, wood panelled internally with traditionally decorated panels lead to the rear deck and steering position.

Controls: The engine controls are traditional speed wheel and push pull gear lever.

The boat is powered by a 1960s Lister JK2Ml 2 cylinder, 18hp diesel engine coupled to Lister Blackstone mechanical gearbox. The exhaust is lagged, silenced and vents out through a chimney in the roof.
The engine powers a 12v alternator to charge the 2 start batteries and the 4 leisure batteries.

The stainless steel water tank is located beneath the well deck. Water pump with pressure switch is located adjacent to the tank. The twin coil calorifier is heated by the 240v emersion heater and/or Webasto diesel fired boiler.

Heating is provided by the Webasto diesel fired boiler via 2 radiators and the copper pipes in the saloon, along with the compact solid fuel stove in the forward cabin and the Boatmans range stove in the rear cabin

The boat was professionally repainted by Andy Russell in March 2018. The boat was last docked for blacking in in March 2018. The hull is protected by 10 anodes and a galvanic isolator.

The boat comes equipped with a normal cruising inventory including a full set of ropes and fenders. Any additional items not listed must be negotiated separately with the owner.
