Stylish 10: 6:5mm steelwork by Steve Haywood created as a sympathetic tribute to a traditional working canal boat. Thetis features tarps and ropes over a steel superstructure with a trad stern, giving beautiful classic lines. Two sets of steel side doors in the engine room along with a pigeon box to the roof. High quality fit-out by the first owner giving 2 2 berth accommodation in painted T&G and oak faced panels with solid oak trims. Powered by a Classic 1953 Gardner 4LK, 4 cylinder diesel engine and gearbox. Push pull gear selector and throttle controls.

From the Bow

From the bow which houses the gas locker there is a 4 6 well deck with a wooden cratch with windows to the front. The stainless steel water tank is located below the well deck with a surface mounted filler. The headlamp is mounted on the front bulkhead.

Generic Fixtures and Fittings

Linings are painted panel (with a T&G style finish) to the cabin sides and oak faced panels with solid oak trims to the hull sides in the forward sections of the boat. The Engine room and Boatmans cabin are fully lined in painted T&G. The flooring is wood effect laminate to the saloon and galley, tile effect laminate to the galley and utility, painted boards to the engine room and Boatmans cabins.

Steel outer doors with fully glazed inner front doors which open out onto the well deck with steps down into the saloon.

Engine Room 6ft 2in

The engine room houses the Classic 1953 Gardner 4LK 4 cylinder, diesel engine and running gear for the boat. The engine was fully refurbished in 2014 with a new starter and water pump, and the gearbox refurbished in 2019.

Lighting: 2 x sets of steel side doors, wood lined internally, with mahogany side steps. 1 x Pigeon box. 3 x 12v, wall lights.

Boatman's Cabin 9ft

Aft of the engine room is the boatmans cabin fully painted white with traditional roses and castles decoration and the usual fixtures and fittings.

Fixed Furniture: Bench seat/child's bed with storage space underneath. Boatman's drop down bed with cupboards above and below. Angled table cupboard with drop down door/table and cupboards above and below. Cubby holes and cupboards on the aft bulkhead.

Heating: Warrior Gabriel solid fuel stove with back boiler.

Lighting: 1 x fixed porthole. 1 x 12v, LED wall light. 1 x 12v, LED ceiling light.

Power: 1 x 12v, socket and USB port.

Stern 3ft 5in

Steel rear doors and sliding roof hatch, wood panelled internally and traditionally decorated lead to the rear deck and steering position.

Controls: The push pull engine controls are just inside the rear doors.

The boat is powered by a classic 1953 Gardner 4LK, 4 cylinder diesel engine and gear box. The exhaust is lagged, silenced and vents out through a chimney in the roof.
The engine powers a 12v alternator to charge the 2 start batteries and the 5 leisure batteries.

The 500 stainless steel water tank is located beneath the well deck. Water pump with pressure switch is located adjacent to the tank. Twin coil calorifier is heated by the Warrior solid fuel stove, 240v immersion and/or the solar panel.

Heating is provided by the Warrior solid fuel stove in the Boatman's cabin with back boiler running 3 radiators and a 2kw diesel fired space heater.
