40ft Cruiser Stern Narrowboat £35,000
Blodeuwedd is a well-loved 40ft narrowboat built in 1989 by Colecraft. She was last blacked in 2021 and has a BSSC until July 2025. The versatile interior is bright and airy with painted panels and offers 3 berth accommodation. A hull survey from April 2019 is available on request. She would make an excellent starter boat, being compact in size and therefore easy to handle. Viewing recommended. Mooring available by separate negotiation.
Background
Cruiser stern built by Colecraft with steelwork believed to be 6/5mm to the base plate and hull sides. Forward cratch with cover. Powered by a BMC 1.8 litre, 4 cylinder diesel engine with a PRM 150 D2 gearbox. Original fit-out believed to have been by Colecraft but the boat has been extensively refitted by previous owners to a reverse layout offering 3 berth accommodation to a reverse layout.
From the Bow
From the bow which holds the gas locker there is a 3 10 self draining well deck with locker/seats to either side. There is a wooden cratch frame with windows to the front and a vinyl cover. The integral steel water tank is below the well deck with surface mounted filler. The headlamp is mounted on the front of the cratch frame.

The ceilings and cabin sides are lined with painted plywood panels trimmed with solid wood. Hull sides are lined with painted T&G with solid wood trims. There are blinds to all windows. Flooring throughout is wood effect vinyl.

Steel stable style front door, wood lined internally opens out onto the front deck with storage steps down into the bedroom.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The boat is powered by a Canaline 38hp, 4 cylinder marine diesel engine with a PRM 120 D2 gearbox
with 2: 1 reduction, turning the propeller. The exhaust is lagged, silenced and vents out from under the side deck.
The engine powers twin 12v alternators to charge the start battery and the 3 leisure batteries.
BOW-THRUSTER
Vetus 55kgf bow-thruster with controls at the stern.
WATER
The integral steel water tank is located beneath the well deck. Water pump with pressure switch is located adjacent to the tank. Water is heated by the engine heat exchanger.
HEATING
Heating is provided by the Valour Willow solid fuel stove in the saloon.
ELECTRICS
240v circuit from landline with RCD.
12v lights throughout protected by fuses.
1 x 12v, engine driven alternator.
1 x 12v, engine start battery.
2 x 12v, 105 amp/hr deep cycle leisure batteries.
A small solar panel and solar charge controller for the engine start battery.

2 x 13kg Propane cylinders housed in the bow locker provide gas to the hob.

EXTERIOR FINISH
