42ft Trad Stern Narrowboat £29,995

Serenity is a two owner trad stern narrowboat built by respected builder R&D Fabrications in 1999. The exterior paintwork was repainted in 2008 and she was last docked for blacking in July 2016 (when she also had new anodes). She has also had a new Vetus engine fitted in 2008, as well as a new inverter. As such, she represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a good value, well cared for starter boat. Background

42ft Trad style narrow boat. Quality 10/6/5/4mm steelwork by R&D Fabrications with side doors and a trad stern with extra wide hatch. Professional fit-out in oak faced plywood with solid oak trims offering 2+2 berth accommodation by R&D Fabrications. Powered by a Vetus 33hp, 4 cylinder marine diesel engine with a Technodive TMC 40M gearbox. BSSC to December 2021.

From the Bow

From the bow which holds the gas locker, there is a 4′ self draining well deck with locker/seats to either side. There is a wooden cratch frame with windows to the front and a vinyl cover with clear panels. The stainless steel water tank is located beneath the well deck with a surface mounted filler.

Generic fixtures and fittings

The ceilings, cabin sides and hull sides are lined with oak faced plywood panels trimmed with solid oak. All interior wood has been varnished. There are curtains or blinds to all windows. Flooring throughout is carpet except in the bathroom which has cork floor tiles.

Saloon 9′ 3″

Steel ½ glazed front doors, wood lined internally open out onto the front deck with a box step down into the saloon. Fixed Furniture: 2 x fixed settees with storage space below. The settees convert into a double berth. There are desmo sockets to allow the use of three different sized tables with the settees to make a dinette area. 1 x low level corner shelf. Loose Furniture: 2 x bentwood armchairs. Other Features: Cello, 12v flat screen TV with built in DVD player. Heating: 1 x central heating radiator. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The boat is powered by a Vetus 33hp, 4 cylinder marine diesel engine coupled to a Technodive TMC 40M gearbox with 2:1 reduction, turning the propeller. The exhaust is lagged, silenced and vents out from under the side deck. The engine powers a 12v alternator to charge the start battery and the 4 leisure batteries.

WATER
The 120 gallon stainless steel water tank is located beneath the well deck. Water pump with pressure switch is located adjacent to the tank. Water is heated by the engine heat exchanger and/or the Webasto diesel fired boiler.

HEATING
Heating is provided by the Webasto diesel fired central heating boiler running 3 radiators.

ELECTRICS
240v circuit from landline with RCD.
12v lights throughout protected by fuses.
1 x 12v, engine driven alternator.
1 x 12v, engine start battery.
4 x 12v, 110 amp/hr deep cycle leisure batteries.
Victron 1600w inverter/charger.

FIRE SAFETY
3 x 1kg Dry Powder extinguishers.
1 x Fire Blanket.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS OF INVENTORY
The boat comes equipped with a normal cruising inventory including a full set of ropes and fenders. Any additional items not listed must be negotiated separately with the owner.

EXTERIOR FINISH
The boat was repainted in 2008 by the Middlewich Canal Centre. The boat was last docked for blacking in July 2016. The hull is protected by 4 anodes.

GAS
2 x Propane cylinders housed in the bow locker, provide gas to the oven, grill and hob.

MOORING INFORMATION
