41ft Cruiser Stern Narrowboat SOLD - £27,000

Muddy Waters is a very well cared for 1980 traditional style 41ft cruiser stern narrowboat, with a light and airy painted interior fit out. She has been recently over plated and was blacked in August 2018. She has also just benefitted from a hull survey in September 2018. The Beta engine was new in 2009 and she has just had a new PRM gearbox fitted in April 2018). The Boat Safety Certificate is valid until June 2022. An excellent starter boat. Lying in Staffordshire.


42ft Trad style narrow boat. Quality steelwork by Dartline with cruiser stern, taff rail and captain‘s chair. Pram cover to the rear. The base plate has been recently over-plated. Original fit-out by Dartline with with subsequent updates by previous owners, in pine offering 2+2 berth accommodation. Powered by a Beta Marine 35hp, 4 cylinder marine diesel engine with a PRM 120 gearbox (new in 2018).BSSC to June 2022.

From the Bow

From the bow which has an open locker, there is a 4′3″ open, self draining well deck. The integral steel water tank is located beneath the well deck with a surface mounted filler.

Generic fixtures and fittings

The ceilings are lined with pine T & G trimmed with solid pine. Cabin sides are lined with painted pine faced plywood and trimmed with painted pine. Hull sides are lined with plywood covered with carpet. All interior wood has been either painted or varnished to a gloss finish. There are curtains or blinds to all windows. The flooring is laid with carpet tiles in the saloon, wood effect laminate in the galley and solid wooden planking in the cabin.

Saloon 8′2″

Half height steel front doors, wood lined internally open out to the front deck with steps down into the saloon.

Fixed Furniture: 2 x fixed settees with storage space below. There is a desmo socket to allow the use of a table to make a dinette area. The settees convert a 5ft 6in bed suitable for small adults or children. 1 x low under gunwale cabinet.

Loose Furniture: Laminate table top.

The boat is powered by a Beta Marine 35hp, 4 cylinder marine diesel engine with a PRM 120 gearbox (new in 2018) with 2:1 reduction, turning the propeller. The exhaust is lagged, silenced and vents out from under the side deck.The engine powers a 12v alternator to charge the start battery and the 3 leisure batteries.
