60ft Cruiser Stern Narrowboat £34,995

Avocet is a 60ft cruiser stern boat built by TT Marine in 1992. She was last out of the water in 2016 for blacking, when the anodes were replaced and the exterior was also repainted. She offers comfortable 4 berth accommodation. The well laid out interior would benefit from some cosmetic improvements, which has been reflected in the asking price. A hull survey from 2015 is also available. Moorings are available by separate negotiation.

From the Bow

From the bow which holds the gas locker, there is a 3′11″ self draining well deck with steel locker seats to either side. There is a cratch frame with windows to the front and a vinyl cover. The integral water tank is located beneath the well deck with a surface mounted filler. The headlamp is mounted on the front of the cratch.

Generic fixtures and fittings

The ceilings are lined with painted plywood trimmed with sapele. The cabin sides are lined with plywood covered with wallpaper. The hull sides are lined with plywood covered with carpet. All interior wood has been either varnished, wallpapered or painted. There are curtains or blinds to all windows. Flooring to the bedroom and bathroom is carpet, the remainder of the boat has wood effect laminate.

Saloon 12′ 10″

Wooden, 1/3 glazed front doors open out on to the front deck with a storage step down into the saloon.

Fixed Furniture: 2 x half height corner cabinets with shelving above and a built in radio/cassette player. Under gunwale display shelves.

Loose Furniture: 2 x bentwood armchairs with matching foot stool. 1 x side table.

Lighting: 3 x windows with top hopper opening vents. 1 x 12v, florescent ceiling light. 2 x 12v, LED wall lights.

Power: 4 x 240v sockets. 2 x 12v sockets. 1 x TV aerial point.

Heating: Villager solid fuel stove set on a raised, tiled hearth and surround. 1 x central heating radiator.

Galley 6′ 10″

The “U” shaped galley has custom built units in solid wood. Worktops and splash-backs are ceramic tiled.

Base units: 1 x double cupboard that extends into the corner. 1 x single cupboard accessed in the saloon. 2 x slim-line single cupboards. Fridge housing. Cooker space.

Wall Units: 1 x double wall cupboard.

Appliances: Parkinson Cowan slot in gas cooker with separate oven and grill. 12v, Isotherm fridge with icebox. Inset, heavy duty composite 1½ sink and drainer with matching monobloc tap.

Cruiser Stern 7′

Wooden rear doors, with sliding roof hatch lead from the utility area to the cruiser deck and steering position. The engine is housed under the cruiser deck and is accessed via lift up floor panels.

Other Features: Taff rail with two locker/seats. Rear tonneau cover.

Controls: The column mounted single lever engine control is on the port side.

GAS
2 x Propane cylinders housed in the bow locker, provide gas to the cooker and the Alde gas fired boiler.

WATER
The 150 gallon integral water tank is located beneath the well deck. Water pump with pressure switch is located adjacent to the tank. Twin coil calorifier is heated by the Alde gas fired boiler and/or the engine heat exchanger.

HEATING
Heating is provided by the Villager solid fuel stove in the saloon and the Alde gas fired central heating boiler running 4 radiators.

240v circuit from landline with RCD.
12v lights throughout protected by fuses.
1 x 12v, engine driven alternator.
1 x 12v, engine start battery.
3 x 12v, 110 amp/hr deep cycle leisure batteries.

EXTERIOR FINISH
The boat was professionally repainted in 2015. The boat was last docked for blacking in 2016. The hull is protected by 4 anodes which were renewed in 2016.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS OF INVENTORY
The boat comes equipped with a normal cruising inventory including a full set of ropes and fenders. Any additional items not listed must be negotiated separately with the owner.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The boat is powered by a Barrus Shire 45hp, 4 cylinder, marine diesel engine coupled to a Newage PRM 150 hydraulic gearbox with 2:1 reduction, turning the propeller. The exhaust is lagged, silenced and vents out from under the side deck. The engine powers a 12v alternator to charge the start battery and the 3 leisure batteries.

BOW-THRUSTER
Vetus 35kgf electric bow thruster with controls at the stern. This is is not currently working.

MOORING INFORMATION
