55ft Semi-Trad Stern Narrowboat £52,500

Renaissance is a lovely one-owner narrowboat built by Severn Valley in 2005. She has been well looked after with regular engine services. She benefitted from a full repaint by Springwood Haven in 2012 and she was last docked for blacking and new anodes in April 2017. She has a Boat Safety Certificate valid until November 2021. Viewing is highly recommended.

Background

55ft Semi-Trad stern narrow boat. Quality 10/6/5/4/mm steelwork with side doors, front cratch with cover and a semi-trad stern by Severn Valley Boat Centre. Stylish modern fit-out in oak offering comfortable 4 berth accommodation. Powered by a Barrus Shire 45hp, 4 cylinder marine diesel engine with twin alternators and Electrolux travel pack generator, coupled to a PRM 150 D2 gearbox. BSSC to November 2021.

From the Bow

From the bow which holds the gas locker, there is a 4′ self draining well deck with steel locker seats to either side and a small table. There is a wooden cratch frame with windows to the front which have Charles Rennie MacIntosh style stained glass windows and a vinyl cover with clear panels. The stainless steel water tank is located beneath the well deck with a surface mounted filler.

Generic fixtures and fittings

The ceilings, cabin sides and hull sides are lined with oak veneered plywood panels trimmed with solid oak. All interior wood has been varnished. There are curtains or blinds to all windows. Flooring throughout is carpet except to the galley and shower room which have wood effect vinyl flooring.

Saloon/Dinette 13′

Wooden, ½ glazed front doors with Charles Rennie MacIntosh style stained glass panels open out onto the front deck with steps down into the saloon.

Fixed Furniture: 1 x low level half height corner cabinet. 1 x wall mounted, glazed display cabinet

Loose Furniture: 1 x swivel/recline armchair with matching foot stools.

Other Features: Sanyo 15″ flat screen TV. Sanyo DVD player. Phillips digital receiver. JVC CD/radio.

Heating: Bubble diesel fired stove with back boiler set on a tiled hearth and surround.

Power: 6 x 240v sockets. 1 x TV aerial point.

Dinette

Fixed Furniture: “L” shaped fixed settee/dinette with padded bench seats. The dinette that converts into a double berth and has storage space beneath. There is a built in wine rack in the base of the settee.

Loose Furniture: Oak table top with desmo legs that can be used to form the dinette. The table stows away under the gunwale. There is also a small folding table.

Galley 8′ 6″

The walk through galley has hand made solid oak cabinets. Worktops are laminate edged with oak with matching laminate splash-backs.

Base units: 2 x single cupboards that extend into the corners. 1 x single cupboard. 1 x full height oven & fridge housing with cupboard above. 1 x 4 drawer unit.

Wall Units: 1 x double Pinnacle cupboard with glazed doors. 2 x wall mounted shelves.

Appliances: Country Leisure Spinflo, inset four burner gas hob. Country Leisure Midi Prima, built-in gas oven and grill. 12v, Shoreline fridge with icebox. Delonghi 800w microwave. Inset, stainless steel sink and drainer with chrome monobloc tap.

Bathroom 6′ x 4″

The cabin bathroom has full height ceramic tiling and a white suite comprising:

Suite: Shower cubicle with a mixer shower and shower curtain. Corner vanity unit with inset ceramic wash basin, chrome mixer tap and a cupboard beneath. Thetford cassette toilet with two spare cassettes.

Aft of the bedroom a wooden rear door leads to the semi-trad deck where the engine is housed under the lift up floor panels. There is a steel locker seat to the port side of the semi-trad deck. Aft of the semi-trad deck are the stern doors which lead to the rear deck and steering position.

Controls: The single lever engine control is on the port side just inside the stern doors.

Other Features: Rear tonneau cover. Wooden steerer’s seat.

WINDOWS, DOORS & HATCHES
Port side: 4 x windows with top hopper opening vents. 1 x porthole with top hopper opening vent and privacy glass.
Starboard side: 3 x windows with top hopper opening vents. 1 x set of steel side doors, wood lined internally. 1 x porthole with top hopper opening vent.
Front: Wooden, ½ glazed front doors.

GAS
2 x Propane cylinders housed in the bow locker, provide gas to the oven, grill and hob.

WATER
The 675 litre stainless steel water tank is located beneath the well deck. Water pump with pressure switch is located adjacent to the tank. Twin coil calorifier is heated by the 240v emersion heater and/or the engine heat exchanger.

HEATING
Heating is provided by the Bubble diesel fired stove in the saloon which has a back boiler running 3 radiators.

EXTERIOR FINISH
Complete exterior repaint in 2012 by Spring Haven. The boat was last docked for blacking in Aril 2017. The hull is protected by 4 anodes renewed in 2017 and a galvanic isolator.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS OF INVENTORY
The boat comes equipped with a normal cruising inventory including a full set of ropes and fenders. Any additional items not listed must be negotiated separately with the owner.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The boat is powered by a Barrus Shire 45hp, 4 cylinder, marine diesel engine coupled to a PRM 150 D2 hydraulic gearbox with 2:1 reduction, turning the propeller. The exhaust is lagged, silenced and vents out from under the side deck.

The engine powers twin 12v alternators to charge the start battery and the 4 leisure batteries.
