45ft Trad Stern Narrowboat SOLD - £29,995

Kingfisher is a handsome narrowboat built by David Piper in 1992 and has been well cared for by her current owners. The saloon features a fixed L-shaped sofa that converts to a double bed allowing for 4 berth accommodation. She was last docked for blacking and new anodes in September 2018. She has a Boat Safety Certificate valid until October 2022. Kingfisher would make an ideal starter boat. Viewing is recommended.

From the Bow

From the bow which holds the integral water tank, there is a 3′ 3″ open self draining well deck. There are locker/seats to either side of the well deck and an under deck storage area. The headlamp is mounted on the front bulkhead.

Generic fixtures and fittings

The ceilings, cabin sides and hull sides are lined with solid pine T & G with hardwood trims. All interior wood has been varnished. There are curtains or blinds to all windows. Flooring is carpet tiles to the saloon, vinyl flooring to the galley and solid oak planks to the remainder.

Saloon 10′ 5″

Wooden 2/3 glazed front doors, with roof hatch open out onto the front deck with storage steps down into the saloon.

Fixed Furniture: 1 x half height corner cabinet. “L” shaped fixed settee with storage space in the base. The settee can be used as a dinette or converts into a double berth.

Loose Furniture: Butterfly dining table with four folding chairs.

Aft of the bedroom is the trad area where the engine is housed under the floor panels as well as all the electrical hardware for the running of the boat. Steel rear doors, wood panelled internally with sliding roof hatch lead to the rear deck and steering position.

Controls: The single lever engine control is on the port side just inside the stern doors.

The boat repainted in 2008 by Audlem. The boat was last docked for blacking in September 2018. The hull is protected by 4 anodes renewed in 2018 and a galvanic isolator.

The boat comes equipped with a normal cruising inventory including a full set of ropes and fenders. Any additional items not listed must be negotiated separately with the owner.

The boat is powered by a Beta Marine 30hp, 3 cylinder, marine diesel engine coupled to a Hurth gearbox with 2:1 reduction, turning the propeller. The exhaust is lagged, silenced and vents out from under the side deck. The engine powers a 12v alternator to charge the start battery and the 2 leisure batteries.
