52ft Trad Stern Narrowboat £44,995

Hummingbird is a handsome 52ft, narrowboat, built by David Clarke Boats in 2006 that has benefitted from a series of cosmetic improvements by the current and previous owners. The BSSC expires in December 2028. She would make a versatile starter boat for cruising holidays, or as a compact live-aboard. The current owner has lived aboard her for the last 10 years. Background

Quality steelwork with side doors and a trad stern by Dave Clarke Boats. Original quality fit-out in light oak with solid oak trims offering 2 berth accommodation. Powered by a Beta Marine 38hp, 4 cylinder diesel engine with PRM 120 D2 hydraulic gearbox.

From the Bow

From the bow which holds the gas locker, there is a 310 self draining well deck. The integral steel water tank is located beneath the well deck with a surface mounted filler. The headlamp is mounted on the roof.

Generic Fixtures and Fittings

The ceilings and hull sides are lined with light oak faced plywood trimmed with solid light oak. The cabin sides are lined with painted plywood trimmed with solid light oak. All interior wood has been either varnished or painted. Blinds to some windows. The floor is laid with carpet to the saloon and bedroom, tile effect vinyl in the galley and wood effect vinyl in the bathroom.

Wooden glazed front doors open out onto the front deck with a box step down into the open plan saloon which has space to add a two-seat sofa bed to allow for two additional berths.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The boat is powered by a Beta Marine 38hp, 4 cylinder, marine diesel engine coupled to a PRM 120 D2 hydraulic gearbox and with 2: 1 reduction, turning the propeller. The exhaust is lagged, silenced and vents out from under the side deck.
The engine powers twin 12v alternators to charge the start battery and the 3 leisure batteries.

WATER
The integral steel water tank is located beneath the well deck. Water pump with pressure switch is located adjacent to the tank. Water is heated by the engine heat exchanger.

HEATING
Heating is provided by the Gallery Classic solid fuel stove in the saloon.
