55ft Trad Stern Narrowboat £44,995

Inyanga is a lovely 55ft, one owner narrowboat, built by the well-regarded David Piper in 1991 and has been fitted out and well cared for by the owner. The BSSC expires in June 2029. She benefitted from a full professional repaint in 2020 and was last blacked in 2021. She would make a versatile starter boat for cruising holidays, or as a compact live-aboard. Background

. Quality steelwork by David Piper with a trad stern, two sets of side doors and a forward cratch and cover. Original quality fit-out by the first owner in solid pine T&G and cherry faced ply with solid pine and mahogany trims offering 22 berth accommodation. Powered by a Vetus 34hp, 4 cylinder marine diesel engine with a ZF-Hurth 12M gearbox.

From the Bow

From the bow which holds the water tank, there is a 58 self draining well deck. There is a wooden cratch frame with windows to the front and a vinyl cover. There are steel locker seats to either side of the well deck and a fold down table to the front.

Generic Fixtures and Fittings

The ceilings and hull sides are lined with solid pine T&G trimmed with solid pine. The hull sides are lined with cherry faced plywood trimmed with solid mahogany. All interior wood has been varnished. There are curtains or blinds to all windows. The floor is laid with carpet tiles throughout apart from the bathroom and galley which have vinyl flooring.

Saloon 11ft 10in

Wooden front doors, with traditional decoration open out onto the front deck with a movable storage step to allow access to under deck storage.

Fixed Furniture: 1 x half height corner cupboard with built in CD/radio player. 1 x full height wardrobe. Wall mounted shelves.

Loose Furniture: 2 x clever movable sofas with storage below that can convert to a double bed. 1 x office type swivel chair.

Lighting: 4 x windows with centre hopper vents. 4 x 12v, wall lights.

Heating: Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove set on a tiled hearth and surround.

The walk through galley has custom built cupboards with painted Shakers style doors. Worktops are wood effect laminate.

Appliances: Vanette slot in gas cooker with separate oven & grill. Indel 12v fridge with ice box. Inset enamel sink with chrome monobloc tap.

Aft of the bedroom is the rear trad area where the engine is housed under the lift up floor panels. All the electrical hardware for the running of the boat is also housed here. There is a seat/day bed.

Steel rear doors, wood lined internally with sliding roof hatch lead to the rear deck and steering position and storage cubby holes.

Controls: The single lever engine control is on the port side just inside the stern doors.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The boat is powered by a Vetus 34hp, 4-cylinder marine diesel engine with a ZF-Hurth 12M gearbox with 2: 1 reduction, turning the propeller. The exhaust is lagged, silenced and vents out from under the side deck.
The engine powers a 12v alternator to charge the start battery and the 3 leisure batteries.

WATER
The 120 gallon integral steel water tank is located in the box. Water pump with pressure switch is located adjacent to the tank. Twin coil calorifier is heated by the Eberspacher diesel fired boiler, 240v immersion heater and/or the engine heat exchanger.

HEATING
Heating is provided by the Morso solid fuel stove in the saloon and the Eberspacher diesel fired boiler running 3 radiators.

240v circuit from landline with RCD.
12v lights throughout protected by fuses.
1 x 12v, engine driven alternator.
1 x 12v, engine start battery.
