57ft 6in Unique Trad Stern Narrowboat Reduced £49,995

Patience is a unique narrowboat built by G & J Reeves to reflect the style of a Thames river launch with an 'ice breaker' bow and rounded trad stern. The large windows in the living area give a light and airy feel to the beautifully fitted interior by Crown Narrowboats. She has comfortable two-berth accommodation that would be equally suited for live-aboard or holiday use. She was blacked in 2022, BSSC to May 2025.

Background

Quality 10/6/4mm steelwork with ice breaker bow and a rounded trad stern by G & J Reeves. Beautiful professional fit-out in light oak T&G by Crown Narrowboats offering 2 berth accommodation with the potential for 4 berth with the addition of a sofa bed. Powered by a Beta Marine 43hp, 4-cylinder marine diesel engine with PRM 150 gearbox and a Vetus 55kgf electric bow-thruster with controls at the stern.

From the Bow

From the bow which holds the gas locker, there is an 8ft self-draining well deck with steel locker seats to all sides covered with padded cushions and a removable table, which could be converted to an additional sleeping space.
Hardwood cratch frame with window to the front and a zipped and studded vinyl cover with clear panels. 2 x 12v ceiling lights and a built in Houdini hatch in the cratch. The stainless-steel water tanks are located beneath the well deck with a surface mounted filler. The headlamp is mounted on the roof.

Generic Fixtures and Fittings

The ceilings and cabin sides are lined with light oak T&G trimmed with solid light oak. Hull sides are lined with light oak faced plywood trimmed with solid light oak. All interior wood has been varnished. There are blinds to all windows. Flooring throughout is Amtico tiles except in the saloon and the bedroom which have carpet.

Saloon 11ft 6in

Hardwood, glazed front doors, open out onto the front deck with level access into the saloon.

Fixed Furniture: 1 x half height corner cabinet. Under gunwale display shelves and bookcases to both sides of the saloon. Breakfast bar.

Loose Furniture: 2 x leather swivel/recline armchairs with a matching foot stool. 2 x bar stools.

Heating: Aarrow solid fuel stove set on a raised stone hearth with a tiled surround. Fin rads below the bookcases.

Trad Area 7ft 3in and Stern 3ft 7in

A door from the bedroom leads to the trad area housing the engine in a noise reduction casement and the electrical hardware for the boat. The engine is housed under lift up floor panels.
This area also houses a workbench and the Candy washer/dryer.
Steel rear doors, wood lined internally with sliding roof hatch lead to the rear deck and steering position.

Other Features: Intercom to the galley.

Controls: The single lever engine control and control panel are on the port side just inside the rear doors.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The boat is powered by a Beta Marine 43hp, 4 cylinder, marine diesel engine coupled to a PRM 150 gearbox with 2: 1 reduction, turning the propeller. The exhaust is lagged, silenced and vents out from under the side deck.
The engine powers triple 12v alternators to charge the start battery and the 3 leisure batteries.

BOW-THRUSTER
Vetus 55kgf electric bow-thruster with controls at the stern.

WATER
The 150 gallon twin stainless steel water tanks are located beneath the well deck. Water pump with pressure switch is adjacent to the tank. Twin coil calorifier is heated by the Webasto diesel fired boiler, and/or the engine heat exchanger.

HEATING
Heating is provided by the Aarrow solid fuel stove in the saloon and the Webasto diesel fired central heating boiler running fin rads and a towel radiator.
